About
LudoGrind 2.0, Entertainment Analytics, is a blog and website concerning media culture, technology, and business intelligence from Hollywood to video games. As the interactive entertainment industry continues to expand, consolidation in game and film space is building momentum at an unprecedented rate. Our key focus is on publishing and distribution across these converging sectors, with coverage areas ranging from investment research to unit sales and metacritics. Blending media economics, film criticism, game reviews and analysis, this space is grounded in ludotopian belief that games in all their forms make the world a better place.
Ludogrind was created in 2007 as a research blog at the University of California, Irvine in order to foster better understanding of artificial worlds and gaming capital. As digital playgrounds emerged, the separation of play from productivity began to fade. Results confirmed that synthetic worlds had become host to ordinary human interaction, creating intersections between everyday life and the matrix of fiber-optic fantasy lands.
